Use a disposable free email address if you are unsure about the company's privacy policy. (ex: www.hotmail.com)

Remember that there are many free offers out there and more are appearing all the time. You don't need to feel you have to grab all of them.

Keep in mind that when you request freebies or do anything on the Net you are interacting with real people, not a computer or faceless company.

Keep an attitude of gratitude. Don't fall prey to the mind set that things are owed to you.

Don't pay for prizes - If you get email or postal mail proclaiming you the winner of a great prize and all you have to do is pay a fee to claim it, don't. It' s a scam and the only winners are the scammers.
